2B Reimagined as a Striking Japanese Doll — Yoshitoku x F:NEX Collaboration, 18th in the Series
FURYU’s premium hobby label F:NEX has transformed 2B (YoRHa No.2 Type B) from NieR:Automata Ver1.1a into a Japanese doll figure, the 18th release in the “Japanese Doll Figure” series created by century-old doll maker Yoshitoku in collaboration with F:NEX.
The loosely worn kimono style brings out 2B’s own brand of beauty, with dynamic leg posing lending the silhouette extra flair. The black-based kimono is designed to harmonize with her sheer thigh-highs and richly textured boots, accented by hair ornaments and an oversized obi knot.
The costume prototype was created by doll artist Ayumi Uyama, who imagined 2B boldly styling her kimono as she stands resolute against her enemies, sword in hand. The furisode sleeves use a single-tone black kinran brocade woven without gold thread — a technique called “mukingamono” — evoking 2B’s iconic gothic-style black attire, in the traditional “kumotatewaku” pattern symbolizing rising clouds and good fortune. The obi, in a silver tone matching her hair, is woven in a crashing-wave pattern to express her inner strength, crafted by Kyoto textile house Bando Shoten.
